Mrs. Karina stared her business a while ago with the help of her husband. She bought recipient, flour, jelly, sugar, milk, a refrigerator and other supplies. She cooks and sells jelly and cakes in her shop. Now she needs a loan to buy another refrigerator and more raw materials because of the growth of her business and increase in demand for her products.
She hopes to become the first saleswoman and producer of cakes in her community with the best cake shop in town.
She wants give at her daughter a better life and a good education school. She knows that with work and husband’s help, she could do it.
Karina lives in a little town called Cochoapa about 10 min from Ometepec the principal town. She is married and her daughter is 5 years old currently attending kindergarten.

Karina used her loan to repair her refrigerator and buy ingredients for her business. She is very happy because with her fixed refrigerator, she can preserve and save her ingredients better.
Karina is so grateful for the people who believe in her. She is finished repaying her loan!

The small community of Rio Santa Catarina, which derives its name from a local river, has a mountainous terrain and warm climate. Economic opportunities in this community are diverse as a result of its close proximity to the growing city of Ometepec.
In Rio Santa Catarina, World Vision is assisting farmers with production and marketing; educating families on disaster preparedness; and working to improve education through tutoring and teacher training. We are also providing healthcare services, nutritional training, and housing assistance.
