Zeyituna Husen supports her seven children by farming a small plot of land. She needs to increase the amount of food she grows but cannot do so if she continues to work the land by hand.
With a loan from World Vision, Zeyituna can by an ox and increase the crop output from her small plot of land. The additional income she earns will enable her to better provide for her children. Someday, Zeyituna would like to start a grain store where she could sell grain she raises to people in her community.
The Agriculture business sector covers all farming and livestock activities. Some entrepreneurs request loans to help in securing supplies and equipment. Others want to buy more animals to breed or purchase feed and medicines. The majority of our loan clients live in rural communities where agriculture is already understood as a business model. It is for this reason that approximately 50% of our loans are in the agricultural sector.
