Fernando is from Mexico. He has 6 children. He needs a loan of $325 to purchase soda, salt, beans, sugar and other inventory.
Fernando began a grocery business to support his large family. He has faced difficulties trying to expand and improve his store, due to a lack of investment capital. Also, he must travel a long distance to purchase inventory to stock his store. His goal is to have a profitable business so he can improve living conditions for his family.
With a loan from World Vision, Fernando will purchase larger quantities and greater varieties of inventory, such as sugar, salt, soda and beans. With the additional income he will earn, he will be able to provide the daily necessities for his six children. In the future, Fernando plans to continue to invest in and expand his business. He hopes to add even more variety of products so the number of customers continues to grow.
Retail is a quick and scalable way to begin earning a profit. Many entrepreneurs begin with stalls at markets or even at home and need a loan to expand or increase their inventory. Others may be ready to open a small store. Goods purchased from loan funds range from clothing, grocery or sundry items to jewelry, candy, perfume or health and beauty supplies. Loans in the commerce sector account for around 33% of our loans.
