Urbano lives in the community of Mixtla de Altamirano, in the state of Veracruz. He needs economic support to breed pigs. He has worked before in this line of business and he earned a good income. Urbano found it was an activity where he could apply his knowledge.
Marketing his business and feeding the pigs are challenges Urbano faces. He is asking for a loan to purchase more pigs and pig feed. Urbano imagines his business as a provider of a high quality product. He wants to offer his pigs at the best price so that he becomes a recognized meat merchant.
With the earnings of his sales, he will provide his family with improved living conditions. Urbano knows that he will have to work many hours in the beginning to establish his business but eventually the hours will decrease so that he can spend more time with his family.
Retail is a quick and scalable way to begin earning a profit. Many entrepreneurs begin with stalls at markets or even at home and need a loan to expand or increase their inventory. Others may be ready to open a small store. Goods purchased from loan funds range from clothing, grocery or sundry items to jewelry, candy, perfume or health and beauty supplies. Loans in the commerce sector account for around 33% of our loans.
