Artur is from Armenia. He needs a loan of $900 to purchase furniture and pay for the cafe's renovation.
Artur runs a little cafe in Meghri, a city in southern Armenia. He would like to improve the conditions of the cafe and increase the quality of its services but he lacks the financial capital to do so.
With a loan from World Vision Artur plans to purchase new furniture for his cafe as well as pay for needed renovations. This will help Artur to attract new clients and increase his business income. With the profits he earns, he will be able to better support his wife and daughter and improve their living conditions.
In areas where the poor live alongside the more affluent, businesses in the service sector can be very successful. Services include flower cultivation, tailoring/sewing, transportation, repair work, beauty salons and barber shops, and restaurants. Loans are needed to begin, expand, or sustain business with tools and supplies. Loans given to entrepreneurs in the service sector account for around 7% of our loans.
