Ayelech is from Ethiopia. She has 1 child. She needs a loan of $150 to buy cattle.
Ayelech, a mother of one from Majete, Ethiopia, was brought up in a family who has been in cattle raising and fattening activity. "I learned the cattle fattening trade from my parents and this enables me to have good life for me and my child,” she said. She currently operates her own cattle fattening business but lacks the capital needed to run her business as she would like.
With a loan through World Vision, Ayelech will be able to buy cattle to raise and fatten and then sell them for profit. Additional income created will allow her to improve the lifestyle of her family. “The increased income will go towards giving my family a quality life and paying for my children to attend school.”
In the future, Ayelech wants to keep expanding her business, especially the cattle fattening business.
The Agriculture business sector covers all farming and livestock activities. Some entrepreneurs request loans to help in securing supplies and equipment. Others want to buy more animals to breed or purchase feed and medicines. The majority of our loan clients live in rural communities where agriculture is already understood as a business model. It is for this reason that approximately 50% of our loans are in the agricultural sector.
