Rany is from Cambodia. She needs a loan of $500 to hire laborers to help harvest the rice crop.
Rany Yun grows rice to support her family. When the rice is ready, it must be harvested on time so it does not spoil in the field. Rany cannot harvest the crop alone and it is difficult for her to hire laborers for the harvest because she does not have cash to pay them.
With a loan from World Vision, Rany can hire laborers, ensuring the rice is harvested without losing part of the crop to spoilage. The additional income she earns will help support her family and educate her three children. The laborers she hires will also benefit from the increased income they earn.
The Agriculture business sector covers all farming and livestock activities. Some entrepreneurs request loans to help in securing supplies and equipment. Others want to buy more animals to breed or purchase feed and medicines. The majority of our loan clients live in rural communities where agriculture is already understood as a business model. It is for this reason that approximately 50% of our loans are in the agricultural sector.

Thank you for supporting a small business loan for Rany Yun to expand her farming and food business where she grows rice. After receiving the loan from World Vision, she invested the $500 to hire laborers to help harvest the rice crop.
Rany has been repaying her loan on time with her new profits. She makes weekly payments of $6.
In addition to repaying her loan, Rany is using additional income to purchase food for the animals, purchase fertilizer and expand the current business. Rany's three children continue to study in school.
She would like to thank all donors for their great help. Thank you for supporting Rany and World Vision Micro!
