Eng is from Cambodia. She needs a loan of $600 to buy piglets and feed.
Eng Aoy lives in Kandal Province, Cambodia. She raises pigs and sells desserts to earn an income. Eng does not have enough capitol to invest in her business.
A loan will allow Eng to purchase more piglets to raise. It will also provide her with enough money to purchase the products needed to make desserts to sell. Eng hopes to one day grow vegetables and expand her business in the area of raising piglets. Expanding her business hopefully will allow her to create at least three jobs for others in her community.
Eng has three children that she provides for. Additional income will improve her family’s standard of living.
The Agriculture business sector covers all farming and livestock activities. Some entrepreneurs request loans to help in securing supplies and equipment. Others want to buy more animals to breed or purchase feed and medicines. The majority of our loan clients live in rural communities where agriculture is already understood as a business model. It is for this reason that approximately 50% of our loans are in the agricultural sector.
