Meline Poghosyan runs a hairdressing salon. She would like to purchase an air conditioning system for her salon so that customers visiting in the hot summer will be comfortable. With better quality service, Meline’s salon will attract more clients.
In the future, Meline plans to offer a greater variety of services for her clients, including make up and epilating. Meline lives together with her parents and sister, and she wants to be be able to provide them with a better future.
In areas where the poor live alongside the more affluent, businesses in the service sector can be very successful. Services include flower cultivation, tailoring/sewing, transportation, repair work, beauty salons and barber shops, and restaurants. Loans are needed to begin, expand, or sustain business with tools and supplies. Loans given to entrepreneurs in the service sector account for around 7% of our loans.
