Zina is from Armenia. She needs a loan of $1,550 to buy cattle.
Zina Yeghoyan earns a living through farming and raising cattle in Sisian, Armenia. Her main business concern is insufficient space for her cattle to forage and infections that prevent her from selling healthy cattle.
With a loan from World Vision, Zina will buy more cattle. With the profits from her loan, Zina plans to increase the business further by buying more cattle and more lands to cultivate.
Zina's family, including her husband and two sons, are all involved in her business, and they will have a stable income and the ability to cover their daily needs. Zina also anticipates that her growing business will benefit others in her community.
In areas where the poor live alongside the more affluent, businesses in the service sector can be very successful. Services include flower cultivation, tailoring/sewing, transportation, repair work, beauty salons and barber shops, and restaurants. Loans are needed to begin, expand, or sustain business with tools and supplies. Loans given to entrepreneurs in the service sector account for around 7% of our loans.
Armenians have their own distinctive alphabet and language. They have a history rich in culture and like to celebrate their heritage. After independence, the importance of agriculture increased. Worries of food insecurities rose during the first phases of transition. Farmers are still limited in their access to credit, markets, training, and new technology.
Located in the southern region of Armenia, Sisian has long, cold winters and cool summers. Traditionally an agricultural region, residents of Sisan were unwillingly involved in conflicts arising from the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991. This conflict damaged the economy and the infrastructure as well as creating a heavy psychological toll for those involved.
Today, World Vision has enabled residents to begin addressing essential needs such as access to clean water, nutritious food, quality education, and vocational training.
Thank you for partnering with World Vision Micro to provide Zina Yeghoyan with a small loan for her farming and livestock business. Zina used her loan of $1,550 to buy cattle to raise. She continues to make weekly payments of $9 on time.
With the profits she has earned from her growing business, Zina is able to purchase food for the animals and purchase equipment.
