Maria Cristina's Final Update October 03, 2010

Maria Cristina

Maria Cristina used the loan from World Vision and the profits she gained from selling fireworks to buy materials to make fireworks. She bought gunpowder, sulfur, thread, paper, saltpeter, coal, and cement. Producing and selling fireworks is a great business for Maria Cristina and for her community. Cochoapa is a community known for its customs and traditions, and manufacturing fireworks is important to the people of Cochoapa.

Maria Cristina says that she is able to make more models of fireworks with the loan given to her. Before she received the loan, she was not able to make a variety of fireworks because she lacked the material. Now, thanks to the loan, her business of manufacturing fireworks is well known in her community and she has even been able to travel to other communities to promote her fireworks and to deliver orders. Her fireworks have been producing good sales and she is beginning to devise more rockets. Maria Cristina hopes that she continues to receive loan support since she has many requests for fireworks. She wants to continue offering her services to the communities.

Maria Cristina would like to thank World Vision and those that helped fund her loan for the opportunity the loan provided for her to continue working by building more fireworks. She and her husband have plans to buy a small plot of land with their savings. They want to build a little house on this land where they can live happily with their children because right now they are renting the house they live in.
