Beatrice is from Kenya. She needs a loan of $200 to add more stock of second hand clothing for sale.
Beatrice, a mother of six, sells second hand clothing (locally known as "mitumba") for a living to support her family. Her main challenge is the high cost of clothing due to price fluctuations. She needs financial support in order to expand her business.
With a loan from World Vision Beatrice will be able to buy more second hand clothing to sell. With the additional profits she will be able to better provide for the basic needs of her family and send her children to school. In the future Beatrice hopes to become a main supplier of clothing in her area.
Retail is a quick and scalable way to begin earning a profit. Many entrepreneurs begin with stalls at markets or even at home and need a loan to expand or increase their inventory. Others may be ready to open a small store. Goods purchased from loan funds range from clothing, grocery or sundry items to jewelry, candy, perfume or health and beauty supplies. Loans in the commerce sector account for around 33% of our loans.
