Chan helps to support her family by operating a small coffee shop in her house. Because she is running her business on such a small scale, she is able to earn very little income for her family. Her goal is to expand her business and make it more profitable so she can provide the daily necessities for her family.
Chan is requesting a loan from World Vision to purchase more coffee and expand her shop. With the additional income she will earn, she will be able to provide enough food for her family. As she continues to invest in her business, she will be able to pay the school fees for her four children, and have access to family medical care.
Retail is a quick and scalable way to begin earning a profit. Many entrepreneurs begin with stalls at markets or even at home and need a loan to expand or increase their inventory. Others may be ready to open a small store. Goods purchased from loan funds range from clothing, grocery or sundry items to jewelry, candy, perfume or health and beauty supplies.
