A mother of two, Birtukan is a young businesswoman who sells vegetables for a living to support her family. She has rich experience in dealing with this activity and wants to develop her business into a sustainable livelihood for her children. “If I keep doing this business, I can be successful in getting more income,” she said.
Committed to improving her life, Birtukan wants to strengthen and expand her business in order to increase her daily income, but she lacks the financial capacity to do so.
With a loan from World Vision Birtukan will be able to buy more vegetables to sell for a profit. By providing various types of vegetables to the market, the people in her locality can benefit from her business. Additionally, she will be able to increase her income, which will go towards improving her family's living conditions and sending her children to a good school.
In the future, Birtukan plans to have her own fruit house in her area someday.
