Amina is from Ethiopia. She has 7 children. She needs a loan of $175 to buy fertilizer.
A mother of seven children, Amina is a strong woman who works hard on her small farm to provide for her family. Though she has oxen, she needs fertilizer as well in order to get a good yield. However, due to financial constraints, she is unable to expand her business and work her farm effectively in the way she desires.
With a loan from World Vision Amina will be able to buy fertilizer and select seeds to maximize her harvest. This will allow her to expand her business and increase her customer base as the locals will be able to get access to her business. “When my business grows, my income also increases and I can improve my life style. The increased income enables me to provide my children with things they need,” she said.
In the future, Amina plans to participate in other income generating activities like cattle fattening as well.
The Agriculture business sector covers all farming and livestock activities. Some entrepreneurs request loans to help in securing supplies and equipment. Others want to buy more animals to breed or purchase feed and medicines. The majority of our loan clients live in rural communities where agriculture is already understood as a business model. It is for this reason that approximately 50% of our loans are in the agricultural sector.

Thank you for supporting the small loan for Amina Abdela to improve her farming business. She invested her loan of $175 to buy fertilizer for her farm.
Amina has now repaid her loan in full. In addition to repaying her loan, Amina has used her additional income to purchase food for the animals, purchase food for her family and provide healthcare.
Amina's seven children continue to study in school.
The loan Amina received helped her business expand and the profits she is earning is creating lasting improvements in her life. In the future Amina hopes to send her children to school, start a new business and repair or expand their home.
