Shanty is from Indonesia. She needs a loan of $400 to buy more cosmetics for her shop .
Shanti lives in Susukan area with her husband, where she owns a small cosmetic shop selling perfumes and cosmetics. She enjoys selling products to customers and wants to expand her business. Because of lack of capital, she can't buy additional products to increase her stock and subsequently her profits.
A World Vision microloan will allow Shanti to buy more cosmetics and perfumes to increase her customer base. She would like to open another shop in the future in a different location.
With the additional income she will have enough money for daily living and to help her family. Any savings will be reinvested in the business with the goal of opening another cosmetic shop in the future.
Retail is a quick and scalable way to begin earning a profit. Many entrepreneurs begin with stalls at markets or even at home and need a loan to expand or increase their inventory. Others may be ready to open a small store. Goods purchased from loan funds range from clothing, grocery or sundry items to jewelry, candy, perfume or health and beauty supplies. Loans in the commerce sector account for around 33% of our loans.
