Mathembe is from Kenya. He has 3 children. He needs a loan of $375 to buy bulk bags of cereal and other grains.
Mathembe, a father of three from Kimangao, Kenya, owns a business selling cereals and other grains. He currently lacks the capital needed to purchase items in bulk to restock his store.
With a loan through World Vision, Mathembe will be able to purchase items in bulk when he finds goods at low prices. He will then be able to have a fully stocked store which will attract more customers, generate sales, and create more profit due to a lower cost of goods sold. Additional income created will allow him to reinvest in his business, meet the needs of his family, and educate his children.
In the future, Mathembe would like to have a wholesale store and create job opportunities for others in his community.
Retail is a quick and scalable way to begin earning a profit. Many entrepreneurs begin with stalls at markets or even at home and need a loan to expand or increase their inventory. Others may be ready to open a small store. Goods purchased from loan funds range from clothing, grocery or sundry items to jewelry, candy, perfume or health and beauty supplies. Loans in the commerce sector account for around 33% of our loans.
