Muny is from Cambodia. She needs a loan of $250 to purchase farming materials .
Muny, a hardworking mother of four children, grows rice and raises livestock; she plans to purchase more farmland to increase her output and profits. She is industrious and also has her own business weaving cradles and making pillows. She is unable to buy fertilizer and raw materials to produce her cradles and pillows.
A World Vision microloan will allow her to access farming materials, such as fertilizer, pesticides and tools for a high-yield harvest this growing season.
The additional income will help her to improve her living standards and she will be able to save some money to send her children to school. She will continue to invest in her farm and cradle/pillow business to ensure her family's daily needs are met.
The Agriculture business sector covers all farming and livestock activities. Some entrepreneurs request loans to help in securing supplies and equipment. Others want to buy more animals to breed or purchase feed and medicines. The majority of our loan clients live in rural communities where agriculture is already understood as a business model. It is for this reason that approximately 50% of our loans are in the agricultural sector.
