Abeba runs a cafeteria. People like her service. She knows that if she can grow her business, she will earn a steady income. Abeba needs a loan to purchase supplies to maintain her cafeteria.
“Working in this small cafeteria is something good for me to generate income. I know that when my business grows, my income also increases and I can improve my lifestyle,” she said.
Abeba wishes to expand her business. She wants to add a bigger cafeteria that helps her enhance her daily income. In the long term, she plans to add her own restaurant in her area.
In areas where the poor live alongside the more affluent, businesses in the service sector can be very successful. Services include flower cultivation, tailoring/sewing, transportation, repair work, beauty salons and barber shops, and restaurants. Loans are needed to begin, expand, or sustain business with tools and supplies. Loans given to entrepreneurs in the service sector account for around 7% of our loans.
