Say's Story

Say, the mother of one child, grows crops and raise animals to earn a living. She does not have enough money to reinvest in her farm and purchase basic farming necessities but she is ambitious and wants to expand her farm.

A World Vision microloan will allow her to buy seeds, fertilizer and pesticides, so she can get maximum yields this growing season. She hopes to expand her farm land in the future for even higher output.

The additional income will enable her and her family to have better living conditions, enough money for more nutritious food and she can support her child's education. She will reinvest in her farm and buy additional animals to raise and sell at market providing her community good quality meat, rice and other grains.

Others want to buy more animals to breed or purchase feed and medicines. The majority of our loan clients live in rural communities where agriculture is already understood as a business model. It is for this reason that approximately 50% of our loans are in the agricultural sector.
