Chhum is from Cambodia. She has 4 children. She needs a loan of $325 to buy potato seeds, fertilizer, pesticide, and plow farmland.
Chhum is a farmer and mother of four children. She grows potatoes and mushrooms on her land. She lacks the money to purchase seeds, fertilizer and pesticide. And she needs to have her land plowed. Because she couldn't plant on time, her crops were small and brought little profit.
A loan would enable her to buy the supplies she needs. Chhum can be assured of a bountiful harvest. With the additional income, she can send her children to school, pay off her debt, and provide her family with more nutritious food.
Chhum would reinvest in her farmland and hopefully purchase more land to grow seasonal vegetables.
The Agriculture business sector covers all farming and livestock activities. Some entrepreneurs request loans to help in securing supplies and equipment. Others want to buy more animals to breed or purchase feed and medicines. The majority of our loan clients live in rural communities where agriculture is already understood as a business model. It is for this reason that approximately 50% of our loans are in the agricultural sector.

Thank you for supporting a small business loan for Chhum Sopheak to expand her farming business. After receiving the loan from World Vision, she invested the $325 to buy potato seeds, fertilizer, pesticides, and plow her farmland.
Chhum has been repaying her loan on time with her new profits. She makes weekly payments of $7.
In addition to repaying her loan, Chhum is using her additional income to purchase food for her family, buy supplies in bulk and purchase equipment. Chhum's 4 children continue to study in school.
Thank you for supporting Chhum and World Vision Micro!
