Mulugeta is from Ethiopia. He needs a loan of $175 to buy sheep to raise.
A father of two, Mulugeta is a hardworking person who has been engaged in agriculture. Ambitious to improve his life, he now wants to start a business in sheep raising. “I have to work hard and get more income. I am happy with my business. By generating some more additional income, I want to improve my life. The increased income will go towards giving my family a healthy diet and keeping my child in school,” he said.
Though Mulugeta wants to expand his new business, he cannot afford to do so. “I cannot run my business effectively in the way I like due to financial shortage. I need financial support to achieve his target... If I get a loan, I will buy more sheep to maximize my income. I need financial support to develop my small business-rearing sheep into a sustainable livelihood for my family. I'm working hard to ensure that my child can have a good education.” he said.
With a loan from World Vision Mulugeta will be able to buy more sheep to raise. With the additional income he will be able to provide his family with the things they need. As his business grows, his customer base will increase and he will generate more income. In the long term, he hopes to be able to sell more sheep to the local market.
The Agriculture business sector covers all farming and livestock activities. Some entrepreneurs request loans to help in securing supplies and equipment. Others want to buy more animals to breed or purchase feed and medicines. The majority of our loan clients live in rural communities where agriculture is already understood as a business model. It is for this reason that approximately 50% of our loans are in the agricultural sector.
