Mestawet is a hard working entrepreneur from Woshebabereket, Ethiopia. She owns a business selling grains, but lacks the capital needed to restock her supply of gain.
With a loan through World Vision, Mestawet will be able to buy grains in bulk. She will then be able to sell the grains for a profit. Additional income will allow Mestawet to reinvest in her business and better care for her family. “The status of my business is in somehow encouraging. When I keep on growing my business, my income is also growing. I can improve my life style and send my kids to a good school,” she said.
In the long term, Mestawet wants to participate in cattle fattening to generate more income.
The Agriculture business sector covers all farming and livestock activities. Some entrepreneurs request loans to help in securing supplies and equipment. Others want to buy more animals to breed or purchase feed and medicines. The majority of our loan clients live in rural communities where agriculture is already understood as a business model. It is for this reason that approximately 50% of our loans are in the agricultural sector.
