living in the rural town of Kapan, Armenia, Ashkhen works alongside her husband on their farm. Although they work hard their farm is only producing enough to barely meet their needs. She would like to start raising cattle to supplement their income but she has not been able to purchase additional cows.
With a loan from World Vision, Ashkhen will be able to purchase cattle. The additional income she earns will enable her to develop a sustainable business and improve their living conditions.
The Agriculture business sector covers all farming and livestock activities. Some entrepreneurs request loans to help in securing supplies and equipment. Others want to buy more animals to breed or purchase feed and medicines. The majority of our loan clients live in rural communities where agriculture is already understood as a business model. It is for this reason that approximately 50% of our loans are in the agricultural sector.
