Ines is 41 years old and she has 3 children, who are all attending school thanks to the help of World Vision. The family lives in Almarcigo Sur, where Ines owns and operates a Photo Studio and a Cyber Cafe. Ines started her activity when she entered a World Vision program for entrepreneurs in April 2011.
Since that date, Ines has been taking all the courses of business development, which have helped her to make her dream come true: running her own business. She currently owns one camera, which is in poor operating condition. A world Vision loan would allow Ines to purchase a new, better quality camera. By offering clients a higher quality product and service, would help Ines grow her business and increase sales.
Ines wants to be a positive encouragement for her children and dream of having a flourishing business, and to expand by opening a new Photo Studio in nearby Tecamac, another community in the State of Mexico. Ines said during a recent discussion, "I once thought that everything about Vision Fund was not real, but now I get to see my store and I see that the help has made a positive difference."
In areas where the poor live alongside the more affluent, businesses in the service sector can be very successful. Services include flower cultivation, tailoring/sewing, transportation, repair work, beauty salons and barber shops, and restaurants. Loans are needed to begin, expand, or sustain business with tools and supplies. Loans given to entrepreneurs in the service sector account for around 7% of our loans.
World Vision is working to improve the health of community members in Tulpetlac by training families and community volunteers in proper healthcare and providing vaccinations and medical checkups for children. We are also organizing cultural and sporting activities for teens and working to improve future employment opportunities by offering vocational training to youth.
