Gregorio lives in Bochil along with his wife Maria and their three children: Vianey, Imelda and Karla. He has been working as a car mechanic for 14 years. There is a great need for Gregorio's services in his community but Gregorio's main struggle is that he does not have sufficient spare car parts to meet the demand of his many clients and to continue his work.
A loan from World Vision will be very useful for Gregorio's business because he will be able to buy necessary spare car parts in order to offer a better service to his customers. The profits will be used to provide for his family and to reinvest in his business. In the future, Gregorio would like to buy more tools for his shop.
In areas where the poor live alongside the more affluent, businesses in the service sector can be very successful. Services include flower cultivation, tailoring/sewing, transportation, repair work, beauty salons and barber shops, and restaurants. Loans are needed to begin, expand, or sustain business with tools and supplies. Loans given to entrepreneurs in the service sector account for around 7% of our loans.
