Rosario lives in Bochil in the state of Chiapas. She is a single mother of a one-year-old girl named Grettel. Rosario has been running a shoe store for approximately one year and faces the challenge of times when she does not get the exact shoes she orders and subsequently cannot deliver them to her clients.
Rosario is requesting a World Vision microloan to increase her shoe inventory for her store. By buying more shoes she will be able to offer more merchandise, increase customer satisfaction and increase her income. She wants to continue investing in her business for expansion and hopes to create four jobs for members of her community.
The additional income will improve her and her child's living conditions. People in her community can easily get the shoes they need without traveling. Rosario will use any savings to continue investing in her shoe store with a goal of increasing her customer base.
In areas where the poor live alongside the more affluent, businesses in the service sector can be very successful. Services include flower cultivation, tailoring/sewing, transportation, repair work, beauty salons and barber shops, and restaurants. Loans are needed to begin, expand, or sustain business with tools and supplies. Loans given to entrepreneurs in the service sector account for around 7% of our loans.
