Mesfin is from Ethiopia. He needs a loan of $175 to restock his variety store.
Mesfin is a young businessman from Hodo, Ethiopia. He owns a successful retail shop and his customers like to buy the products he supplies. He currently lacks the money to restock his store. “If I get a loan, I will be able to succeed and generate income because the nature of my business demands money to run effectively,” he said.
With a loan through World Vision, Mesfin will be able to restock his store, which will then attract more customers and generate income. Additional income created will allow Mesfin to better provide for his family. "The increased income from selling my products will go towards giving my children a more nutritious diet, keeping them in school, and paying for medication,” he said.
In the long run, Mesfin wants to add one more shop to enhance his daily income. He would also like to employ others in his community.
The Agriculture business sector covers all farming and livestock activities. Some entrepreneurs request loans to help in securing supplies and equipment. Others want to buy more animals to breed or purchase feed and medicines. The majority of our loan clients live in rural communities where agriculture is already understood as a business model. It is for this reason that approximately 50% of our loans are in the agricultural sector.
