Tirunesh is from Ethiopia. She has 2 children. She needs a loan of $150 to buy supplies for her beauty shop.
Tirunesh, a mother of two, provides for her children with the income she generate from her beauty salon. The local people like her service and she is enjoying success. She believes that she will be successful in her business if she keeps on. However, due to financial constraints she has not been able to purchase the items she needs that will help grow her business. As she explains, “I face serious financial constraint. I wish I could get financial support to strengthen my business.”
With a loan from World Vision Tirunesh will be able to purchase additional items that will allow her to accommodate more clients and create a thriving business. This will enable her to better provide for her children and ensure they receive an education. As her income grows, she plans on purchasing a barber shop and employing people in her community.
In areas where the poor live alongside the more affluent, businesses in the service sector can be very successful. Services include flower cultivation, tailoring/sewing, transportation, repair work, beauty salons and barber shops, and restaurants. Loans are needed to begin, expand, or sustain business with tools and supplies. Loans given to entrepreneurs in the service sector account for around 7% of our loans.
