A father of four children, Ashenafi maintains spare car parts for a living. He is happy with his business and works hard to satisfy the needs of his customers. Though his business is doing well, Ashenafi would like to keep it growing but he lacks the capital to do so.
With a loan from World Vision Ashenafi will be able to buy car maintenance equipment and better serve his customers. With the profits he earns he will be able to expand his business and provide for the basic needs of his family. His future goal is to fulfill his dream of owning his own garage in his community.
In areas where the poor live alongside the more affluent, businesses in the service sector can be very successful. Services include flower cultivation, tailoring/sewing, transportation, repair work, beauty salons and barber shops, and restaurants. Loans are needed to begin, expand, or sustain business with tools and supplies. Loans given to entrepreneurs in the service sector account for around 7% of our loans.
