Getinesh is from Ethiopia. She needs a loan of $200 to buy more goats to raise.
Getinesh, a mother of three, has a lot of experience in goat rearing. She is encouraged and feels that goat rearing generates good profits, but she also wants to expand her busines. “I want to work hard and improve my life. My family no longer suffers from shortage of things at home. I can provide my family with a quality of life,” she said. “When I keep on growing my business, my income is also growing. I can improve my life style. My children no longer face challenges because I can help them,” she said.
Getinesh faces financial shortages to expand her farm and is requesting a World Vision microloan to purchase more goats. In the future, Getinesh wants to participate in planting vegetables in her garden to generate even more income.
The additional income will be reinvested in Getinesh's farm and livestock. “When my business is growing, I will have more customers and I can supply my products to them,” she said. Her family's living conditions will be improved and she can ensure their improved quality of life continues.
The Agriculture business sector covers all farming and livestock activities. Some entrepreneurs request loans to help in securing supplies and equipment. Others want to buy more animals to breed or purchase feed and medicines. The majority of our loan clients live in rural communities where agriculture is already understood as a business model. It is for this reason that approximately 50% of our loans are in the agricultural sector.
