Audelia has a small convenience store, where she works hard to provide for her family. She will use a loan from World Vision to buy more goods for her convenience store, like rice, milk, beans, sugar, eggs, water, soft drinks, soap, and toilet paper.
Audelia's business has been doing well, since her husband, Lazaro, has also been working to support the family. The loan will give her a chance to expand her business; she would like to redesign the building and offer a broader range of products.
As Audelia reaches more customers and makes a greater profit, she will save up some money and continue investing in her store. She hopes to buy a new fridge, which she needs to continue running the shop.
Audelia and Lazaro have four children in elementary school named Heidi, Artemio, Isaac and Melina. Audelia will use her additional income to help her husband with the family expenses and continue to pay for her children's education.
Retail is a quick and scalable way to begin earning a profit. Many entrepreneurs begin with stalls at markets or even at home and need a loan to expand or increase their inventory. Others may be ready to open a small store. Goods purchased from loan funds range from clothing, grocery or sundry items to jewelry, candy, perfume or health and beauty supplies. Loans in the commerce sector account for around 33% of our loans.
