Rotana is from Cambodia. She has 4 children. She needs a loan of $300 to buy pigs, feed and farming supplies.
Providing for her family is Rotana Tann, mother of four, ultimate goal. Though her husband works, her family mainly depends on farming and raising animals such as pigs, ducks, and chickens for their livelihood. She would like to purchase more animals and farming supplies to improve her farm, but due to a lack of money, she has not been able to make additional purchases.
A loan from World Vision will make it possible for Rotana to buy more animals and improve her farm. The additional money she earns will enable her to run her business smoothy, improve their living conditions, better provide for her children, and to send them to school. In addition, her farm will help to lift her community from poverty.
The Agriculture business sector covers all farming and livestock activities. Some entrepreneurs request loans to help in securing supplies and equipment. Others want to buy more animals to breed or purchase feed and medicines. The majority of our loan clients live in rural communities where agriculture is already understood as a business model. It is for this reason that approximately 50% of our loans are in the agricultural sector.

Rotana has been repaying her loan on time with her new profits. She makes weekly payments of $5.
In addition to repaying her loan, Rotana is using her additional income to purchase food for her animals, pay school fees and purchase fertilizer. Rotana's four children continue to study in school.
