Coapilla is a community in the state of Chiapas whose name means “Crown of Summits” in Nahuatl. It is located in the northern mountain zone of the state. The conditions of the land are perfect for the growth of coffee, chayote, avocado, blackberry, peach, strawberry, corn and beans. Candelaria lives in this beautiful area; she is married to Vicente and they have one child.
She's been happily working in natural product sales for almost two years with good profits. The challenges Candelaria faces are when her clients come to look for a specific product, but she no longer has it in stock, as well as the difficulities associated with traveling to get more products.
Candelaria is requesting a World Vision microloan to buy, in bulk, more natural products for resale. She will then have the opportunity to offer a better-quality service, increase customer satisfaction and increase sales. For people in the community, nutritional clubs are very important because they are now used for the natural products that help improve health.
Additional profits will be used to improve Candelaria's family's lifestyle and her savings will be reinvested to keep purchasing bulk natural products to ensure her business remains competitive and financially viable.
Lastly, a handful of our entrepreneurs have unique businesses that do not fall into any of the above categories. In these cases, our entrepreneurs may see a need in their community and then their business idea is born. Approximately 7% of our loans fall into this final category.
