Pao is from Cambodia. She needs a loan of $350 to purchase farming supplies and livestock.
Pao supports her family with her farming and livestock business. Her business is small and only marginally sustainable. Sometimes, her income is insufficient even for basic necessities such as medical treatment. Her goal is to expand her farm and operate it efficiently so she can improve living conditions for her family.
A loan from World Vision will allow Pao to purchase farming supplies and additional livestock to raise. The additional income she will earn from these improvements will be used to provide daily necessities for her family and to pay the school fees for her two children. In the future, Pao plans to continue to invest in and expand her farm.
The Agriculture business sector covers all farming and livestock activities. Some entrepreneurs request loans to help in securing supplies and equipment. Others want to buy more animals to breed or purchase feed and medicines. The majority of our loan clients live in rural communities where agriculture is already understood as a business model. It is for this reason that approximately 50% of our loans are in the agricultural sector.
