Felekech, the mother of three children, is highly confident and enjoys sheep fattening, which is her main source of income. She feels that she is in a good position to strengthen her business. “If I get a loan, I can start another business. I can buy cattle and sheep for fattening. I can easily make a profit,” she said. However, she is restricted from expanding due to financial scarcity.
A World Vision micro loan will allow Felekech to expand her livestock business by purchasing some cattle for fattening, in addition to her sheep. This will allow her to attract more customers and generate more income.
With the additional income, "I can improve my lifestyle. I can send my kids to a good school,” Felekech says. She will be able to provide her community with healthy, fattened sheep and cattle to ensure her family's needs continue to be met.
The Agriculture business sector covers all farming and livestock activities. Some entrepreneurs request loans to help in securing supplies and equipment. Others want to buy more animals to breed or purchase feed and medicines. The majority of our loan clients live in rural communities where agriculture is already understood as a business model.
