Endale is from Ethiopia. He needs a loan of $200 to buy sheep for fattening.
A father of one, Endale is engaged in agriculture and works hard with his wife out in the field. In addition to this, he wants to participate in sheep fattening in order to generate more income for his family. “I have to work hard and get more income. I am happy with my business. By generating additional income, I want to send my child to school, covering the expenses,” he said.
However, due to financial constraints, Endale cannot run his business effectively in the way he desires. A World Vision loan will enable him to buy more sheep to raise on his small farm. With the additional profits he will be able to better provide for his family and improve their living conditions. As his business expands and his customer base increases, Endale hopes to generate enough income to be able to create a job opportunity for his friend. In the future, he also dreams to participate in other business activities like cattle fattening.
The Agriculture business sector covers all farming and livestock activities. Some entrepreneurs request loans to help in securing supplies and equipment. Others want to buy more animals to breed or purchase feed and medicines. The majority of our loan clients live in rural communities where agriculture is already understood as a business model. It is for this reason that approximately 50% of our loans are in the agricultural sector.
