Fantaye is from Ethiopia. He needs a loan of $200 to buy more sheep for raising.
Fantaye works hard to earn an income. ”I'm a farmer and I know there are ways in which I can earn money. I can participate in sheep fattening. I liked this business because it helps me manage my family in covering costs,” he said. Fantaye started raising sheep and wants to strengthen and expand his business but he does not have the financial capital to do so.
With a loan from World Vision Fantaye will be able to buy more sheep to raise. As his business grows, his income will increase and the locals will also benefit. With the additional profits Fantaye will be able to better provide for his family and improve their living conditions. In the future he hopes to participate in cattle fattening as well.
The Agriculture business sector covers all farming and livestock activities. Some entrepreneurs request loans to help in securing supplies and equipment. Others want to buy more animals to breed or purchase feed and medicines. The majority of our loan clients live in rural communities where agriculture is already understood as a business model. It is for this reason that approximately 50% of our loans are in the agricultural sector.
