Your gift to help a hardworking entrepreneur will double in impact thanks to a generous World Vision partner.
Khoeun is from Cambodia. She has 5 children. She needs a loan of $625 to repair her food services stall.
Khoeun, the mother of five, sells porridge, Khmer noodles--fish, ducks and chicken during the festival season. The unavailability of money is preventing her from investing in her food services stall, which she wants to relocate to a more visible location to attract additional customers.
Khoeun will use a World Vision micro loan to make repairs to her food service stall, so she can move it to run her business more effectively and for greater profit.
The additional income will allow Khoeun to pay her loan and bolster her food sales in a new location. The additional income will improve her family's living conditions and she can better support her children, pay for school fees and provide a healthier diet.
In areas where the poor live alongside the more affluent, businesses in the service sector can be very successful. Services include flower cultivation, tailoring/sewing, transportation, repair work, beauty salons and barber shops, and restaurants. Loans are needed to begin, expand, or sustain business with tools and supplies. Loans given to entrepreneurs in the service sector account for around 7% of our loans.
