Sivorn supports her family by raising chickens, ducks, and pigs. Her business is small, and she faces the difficult challenge of insufficient capital for daily operation and expansion. Her business is not currently sustainable, and as a result, there is inadequate provision for her family and her children are unable to attend school.
With a loan from World Vision, Sivorn plans to purchase pigs and feed. By expanding her business, it can become sustainable and profitable. With the additional income she will earn, she plans to reinvest in and continue to improve her business. She will be able to provide adequate shelter, clothing, and nutritious food for her family, and her two children will be able to attend school.
The Agriculture business sector covers all farming and livestock activities. Some entrepreneurs request loans to help in securing supplies and equipment. Others want to buy more animals to breed or purchase feed and medicines. The majority of our loan clients live in rural communities where agriculture is already understood as a business model. It is for this reason that approximately 50% of our loans are in the agricultural sector.
