Non is from Cambodia. She has 3 children. She needs a loan of $250 to buy fertilizer and animal feed.
Non, the mother of three, grows crops and raises various animals, such as chicken, ducks, and pigs. She is hardworking, but recent insect issues resulted in a bad crop yield; she cannot sell her crops for a profit.
A World Vision micro loan will help Non reinvest in her farm, so she can expand it to maximize her profits. She will be able to buy feed for her animals and fertilize her crops for a maximum yield.
The income will improve her family's welfare and enhance their living conditions. More importantly, her children can go to school regularly. She can provide more products to her community and grow her customer base.
The Agriculture business sector covers all farming and livestock activities. Some entrepreneurs request loans to help in securing supplies and equipment. Others want to buy more animals to breed or purchase feed and medicines. The majority of our loan clients live in rural communities where agriculture is already understood as a business model. It is for this reason that approximately 50% of our loans are in the agricultural sector.
