Ayalew's Story

Ayalew, a father of one from Jawuha Negeso, Ehtopia, has a small farm where he grows crops and raises oxen. He wants to buy fertilizer to maximize his crop yield, but currently lacks the capital needed to do so.

With a loan through World Vision, Ayalew will be able to buy fertilizer for his crops, increase his crops yield, which will increase his profits. Additional income created will allow him to reinvest in his business and provide for his family. “When my business grows, my income also increases and I can improve the lifestyle of my family. The increased income enables me to provide my family with things they need,” he said.

In the future, Ayalew wants to participate in other income generating activities like cattle fattening.

Ayalew is on his way to repaying his small business loan, as he makes weekly payments of $3.

Thanks to the profits he has earned, Ayalew can afford to purchase food for the animals and provide food and healthcare for his family.

Ayalew two children continue to study in school. He hopes to provide his family with a brighter future.
