Ayalew is from Ethiopia. He has 1 child. He needs a loan of $175 to buy fertilizer to maximize his harvest.
Ayalew, a father of one from Jawuha Negeso, Ehtopia, has a small farm where he grows crops and raises oxen. He wants to buy fertilizer to maximize his crop yield, but currently lacks the capital needed to do so.
With a loan through World Vision, Ayalew will be able to buy fertilizer for his crops, increase his crops yield, which will increase his profits. Additional income created will allow him to reinvest in his business and provide for his family. “When my business grows, my income also increases and I can improve the lifestyle of my family. The increased income enables me to provide my family with things they need,” he said.
In the future, Ayalew wants to participate in other income generating activities like cattle fattening.
The Agriculture business sector covers all farming and livestock activities. Some entrepreneurs request loans to help in securing supplies and equipment. Others want to buy more animals to breed or purchase feed and medicines. The majority of our loan clients live in rural communities where agriculture is already understood as a business model. It is for this reason that approximately 50% of our loans are in the agricultural sector.
