W/Gebriel sells grain for a living to support his family. He is interested in this business because he knows it is a profitable activity. “If I get a loan, I will provide the community with various types of grains in large quantity which helps me get additional income,” he said.
W/Gebriel is striving to improve his life. “I have to work hard and get more income. I am happy with my business. By generating additional income, I want to improve my life style. I can also have my own grain store,” he said. Though W/Gebriel has big dreams to expand his business, financial constraints have been an obstacle to running his business effectively.
With a loan from World Vision W/Gebriel will be able to buy more grain for resale. This will allow him to grow his business, increase his customer base, and generate more income. W/Gebriel plans to use the additional profits to better provide for the needs of his family. In the future, he also hopes to achieve his dream of owning his own grain store.
Retail is a quick and scalable way to begin earning a profit. Many entrepreneurs begin with stalls at markets or even at home and need a loan to expand or increase their inventory. Others may be ready to open a small store. Goods purchased from loan funds range from clothing, grocery or sundry items to jewelry, candy, perfume or health and beauty supplies. Loans in the commerce sector account for around 33% of our loans.
