Lucy Angelica is from Mexico. She needs a loan of $400 to buy tomatoes, chili, onions, potatoes, apples, pears, peaches, oranges, and bananas.
Lucy lives in a municipality in the state of Guerrero called Marquelia (known in the past as “Potzahualco” meaning "Place Plentiful of Water" in Nahuatl). This area is surrounded by rivers, creeks, lagoons, beautiful beaches and a waterfall. It is also a region full of tropical plantations: coconut, guava, tamarind, papaya, banana and hibiscus.
Lucy lives in this beautiful land with her parents. She is twenty-one years old and has three siblings, all of whom no longer live with them. Five years ago, Lucy began selling fruits and vegetables to help her parents with the family expenses. Thanks to her activity and effort she has been able to buy the most essential goods and supplies for her family.
Lucy would like to expand her business. With a World Vision loan she will be able enlarge her stock by buying different types of fruits and vegetables including: tomatoes, chili, onions, potatoes, apples, pears, peaches, oranges, and bananas. With the additional profits she will be able to continue helping her family with the things they need. By investing, saving and using her income wisely, she knows she has the opportunity to improve their living conditions.
In the future, Lucy hopes to have her own establishment someday so that she can offer a larger quantity of fruits and vegetables to the people in her community.
