Kosal Met

Kosal Met - Cambodia
Funded $0 of $200

Met grows rice, vegetables and sesame seeds and raises pigs to support her family. She would like to cultivate more land and expand her business. Met has the good financial management skills needed to successfully improve her business, but she does not have the capital to do so. She knows that borrowing money from the local money lender will only bring her more debt, rather than improve her living conditions.

A loan from World Vision will provide the capital Met needs to expand her farm and livestock business.

Met has three children. Additional income from Met’s expanded business will provide a better livelihood to support her family. She could provide nutritious food for her family, and with a more secure livelihood, she would be able to join in local religious activities and be more social.

Abdul Rahman

Abdul Rahman - Indonesia
Funded $0 of $225

Abdul lives in the coastal area of Jakarta City. In order to support his family, he raises ducks and sells them in his community. This is a good business as a whole because in Indonesia duck meat is only second to chicken meat in terms of consumption. However, Abdul's greatest challenge at this time is obtaining the best duck feed that will help their growth and allow him to ask for a greater price when sold.

With a loan from World Vision, Abdul will be able to purchase more ducklings to raise, as well as the feed he would like to give them so as to raise healthy ducks. Increasing his livestock and feeding them the best food will allow Abdul to expand his business and increase his sales. With enough expansion, he expects to be able to hire an assistant to help him in preparing the feed and herding his ducks.

The additional income from his increased sales will help Abdul meet his family's daily needs. He would also like the opportunity to set aside some money for his child's future to give him a brighter hope for what's to come.

Abaynesh Sayid - Ethiopia
Funded $0 of $275

Abaynesh Sayid lives in Ajbar where she raises cattle to provide for her family. She is needing to increase her income and wants to purchase more cows to raise. The problem is that she does not have the money to invest into her business right now. That is why Abaynesh is asking for funding from World Vision.

With the funds that she receives, Abaynesh will be able to purchase the additional cows to increase her farm. Having more cattle to sell will increase her business and she will have a better income.

Abaynesh is the mother of two children and all of her income goes towards providing for their needs. With the increased income, she will be able to better provide for them and improve their living conditions. Her plans for the future include continuing to increase her business and looking for new business opportunities. Her dream is to able to save enough money to have a house built for her family so that they will have a more secure place to live.

Serah Nyakinywa

Serah Nyakinywa - Kenya
Funded $0 of $250

Serah runs a poultry raising business in order to support her large family. At this time, however, she is faced with many challenges. The most pressing of these are her inadequate capital to provide the basic needs of her poultry, the high cost of veterinary services, and the poultry diseases that have taken their toll on her livestock.

With a loan from World Vision, Serah will be able to build a chicken coop to give them some shelter from the elements and feed that will keep them healthy. These two basic necessities will help increase her profits by increasing the amount for which she can sell her healthy poultry. Serah's goal is to expand her business from a small-scale practice to a large-scale farm. With enough expansion, she will then be able to hire others from her community to help her run her business.

The increased profits she will bring in from her larger sales will allow Serah to improve her family's living conditions and increase their daily consumption. She also plans to use her profits to cover the cost of her seven children's educational expenses.

The additional income will allow him to provide the basic necessities for his six children and reinvest in his business.
