Several months ago, I blogged about one of my favorite entrepreneurs on Micro named Joan. Well, friends, I now have a confession to make…I have a new favorite. Don’t get me wrong, I still have a special place in my heart for Joan and bad karaoke music. But you have to meet Edgar, a hardworking entrepreneur from Armenia.
Edgar has become my new favorite hardworking entrepreneur for the following reasons:
1. He can survive earthquakes.
2. He appreciates a turtleneck, a look I’ve been desperately trying to bring back since 1987.
3. His doppelganger is Gru from Despicable Me.
4. But most importantly, Edgar wants to bring more technology to his community in rural Armenia! I mean, how cool is that?! Edgar creates websites and believes that he can build a better life for himself and others by using his technology skills to serve his community. Rather than participating in the brain drain that largely affects most of the developing world, Edgar wants to remain in his community and begin a business. And that, friends, is why Edgar is my new favorite.
